Wayne Weekly “Winds of Change”

Written by on March 8, 2021

Do you find yourself waiting for that first burst of warmer air?  You know, the one that brings springtime with it! How about the warmth of sun radiating it’s blessing around your outside ventures, or the trickle of thawing snow banks or the drip of melting icicles glistening in the sun? A spring rain. And then the Robin redbreast, already intently looking for an insect, or a worm slowly migrating to the warming surface above.

The winds of change.

Change can be good, it can signify a new beginning, another opportunity for the good, a fresh start on life. But change can also leave us wanting, can bring some despair, can birth new challenges.

Our world is awakening this spring to many heart wrenching changes. Moral decay being exonerated by the loud cry of conveniently concocted equal rights, political correctness, climate change, cancel-culture, right to choose, and more emerging. We wag our heads and wonder…is there hope?

God’s Word has prepared us for this change of seasons. One only has to look in the “Book” to see today’s handwriting on the wall. But along with the dire forecast, comes the promise of a new world coming, and until that time, God gives us a survival guide to ride out the storm, and do it with joy and hope, and courage.

The Word of God is our rock on which to build our foundation. The Bible is the map leading us through our journey. It’s our sextant in the midst of a sea of uncertainty.

Yes, spring is just ahead, new life, a season of hope. Enjoy its blessings and be encouraged, God is in control.

“Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”                                                                                                                                                                     Hosea 6:3
