Wayne Weekly “Here, There, or in the Air…!

Did we really expect the weather to stay in the 70’s after our recent jump to late spring?

Probably not…but wouldn’t it be nice? We’ve lived in this part of the country long enough to know that there is a promise of spring weather coming, we’re just not exactly sure when it will experientially arrive.

During that 70’s day I actually laid out on our back deck and “basked” in the warmth of the sun. I raked a few leaves away from the house, vacuumed my car…well…, some of it, and took our dog for an extra walk in low speed. I saw joggers, bike riders, and baby strollers, too.  Oh, yes, I even rolled down my car window on the way home from church!

Amidst all the turmoil in the world, we can find peace and confidence in the promise that Jesus is coming back to gather His church together. We’ve been told that in the last days scoffers will come and say, “Where is the promise of His coming…”

Knowing that we’re headed home is reassuring. This is not an “escape”, but a continuation of the divine agenda for the ages. Whether Jesus comes to us in our lifetime, or sometime after we have transitioned into eternity is God’s business, but we’re to be on the lookout!

Spring…it’s in the air. Jesus coming…well, that will put Christians in the air.

“And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”
