CAL THOMAS COMMENTARY JANUARY 15, 2025
NEXT WEEK, AFTER PRESIDENT-ELECT DONALD TRUMP’S INAUGURATION, THE WORK OF TRYING TO RESTORE AMERICA TO HER ECONOMIC, FOREIGN POLICY AND MORAL FOUNDATIONS BEGINS. THE MORAL PART INCLUDES THE ELIMINATION OF DEI AND OTHER NUTTY THINGS.
AMONG THE TARGETS OUGHT TO BE FRAUDULENT SPENDING. THE WASHINGTON TIMES REPORTS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SPENDS AS MUCH AS $800 BILLION EVERY YEAR ON FRAUDULENT BENEFIT PAYMENTS. $800 BILLION! REDUCING FRAUD MEANS NOT A SINGLE AGENCY OR DEPARTMENT NEEDS TO BE CUT. THAT SHOULDN’T BE THE END OF IT, JUST THE BEGINNING, BECAUSE A LOT OF AGENCIES AND DEPARTMENTS NEED TO BE CUT.
HAYWOOD TALCOVE, CEO OF GOVERNMENT AT LEXISNEXIS RISK SOLUTIONS, ESTIMATES THAT TWENTY PERCENT OF THE GOVERNMENT’S BIG SPENDING PROGRAMS, SUCH AS MEDICAID AND FOOD STAMPS, ARE WASTED ON FRAUDULENT PAYMENTS.
WE’VE KNOWN ABOUT FRAUD IN THESE AND MANY OTHER PROGRAMS FOR YEARS, BUT ESPECIALLY DEMOCRATS DON’T SEEM TO CARE. IT ISN’T THEIR MONEY. IT’S OURS AND THE FRAUD CAN BE AND OUGHT TO BE ENDED. IT’S EASY, OR IT SHOULD BE. I’M CAL THOMAS.
