Ring the Bells…It’s Christmas!
Written by Wayne Taylor on December 12, 2023
We don’t hear them quite so much anymore, that is church bells ringing I mean. It seems like every church played their melodies, if not every day, at least on Sundays. Oh yes, then there are the Christmas bells.
Church bells chiming have a peaceful sound, creating a kind of solemn atmosphere. That ringing on a snow-covered night is somehow enhanced by the glitter of snow or the gentle falling of snowflakes.
God uses many things to gently express His creation. Things like a gentle wind whispering through the pines, the pitter pattering of rainfall, the sound of an owl in the quietness of a summer night. It is all declaring His creative hand.
The sound of Christmas bells softly pealing out familiar carols of the season, that too can turn our attention to God as the carillons proclaim the miracle of Christmas, the birth of the Son of God.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
