(SRN NEWS) – A Texas county that wants to keep several books out of its public libraries has made its case before the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.  The judges are being asked to decide whether the rights of the patrons or county officials are most at risk.  Some of the books are aimed at promoting the LGBT agenda amongst small children.  They include “Being Jazz: My Life as a Transgender Teen” by Jazz Jennings and Robbie Harris’ book “It’s Perfectly Normal: Changing Bodies, Growing Up, Sex and Sexual Health”.  No word on when the court will rule.

It’s “Climate Week” in New York City — an annual event organized by environmentalists to raise awareness of so-called “climate change” within the business and international community.  But this year Climate Week featured a “Environmental Drag Show”.  Organizers say the LGBT community needs to be made a central part of the movement to combat climate change.  The drag show included men dressed as women enacting scenes that could be interpreted as metaphors for harming or preserving the Earth.

Thailand is the latest Asian country to legalize gay marriage.  The law has been published in the Royal Gazette after endorsement by Thailand’s king, and will go into effect in January.  The legislation, which grants full legal, financial and medical rights for marriage partners of any gender, sailed through the country’s House of Representatives and the Senate over the summer.  The far East is generally considered to be socially conservative, but Nepal and Taiwan recently passed laws allowing homosexuals to marry.
