The TWR Christian broadcasting ministry is providing special Olympics coverage to Arabic-speaking audiences. During the Paris Games, TWR is providing a daily broadcast that “captures the essence of sportsmanship and showcases God’s work through sports. The special media coverage also will feature testimonies from Christian athletes. The ministry says the goal is “to convey a message of hope and encouragement.”

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association held a weekend summit for Spanish-speaking pastors and church leaders in Denver. The bilingual events are intended to foster unity among local leaders and encourage them in their Gospel-sharing mission. Ministry officials say it’s a “pivotal time” for evangelical outreach “as the Hispanic population continues to grow and gain prominence.” Two more conferences will be held later this year.

A member of the U-S women’s gymnastics team that won gold at the Olympics cited a Bible verse after celebrating the victory. Sixteen-year-old Hezly Rivera’s Instagram post included a reference to Isaiah 40:31, which reads in part: “…those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…” After securing a spot on the U-S team in July, Rivera posted Philippians 4:13 on her account.
