(SRN NEWS) – McDonald’s is joining a growing list of companies that are pulling back on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.  Ford, Lowe’s, John Deere and others are dropping their efforts to promote the LGBT agenda and other liberal causes, amidst a backlash from customers and the election of President Trump.  Officials at Walmart say they will stop selling LGBT products aimed at children, including chest binders intended for girls who are living as boys.  The world’s largest retailer will also no longer take part in the Human Rights Campaign’s index measuring inclusion for homosexuals.

Ethiopia’s Orthodox Christians celebrated Christmas on Tuesday with prayers for peace in a nation that has faced persistent conflict in recent years.  Orthodox believers follow the Julian calendar, which runs 13 days later than the Gregorian calendar, used by Catholic and Protestant churches.  According to UNICEF, conflicts in several regions of Ethiopia have caused widespread suffering and forced nine million children to drop out of school.  Other parts of the country recently faced deadly natural calamities, including mudslides and earthquakes.

Everybody seems to be talking about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the legendary Lutheran pastor from Germany who was executed by the Nazis in 1945 for his role in a resistance movement.  His story came to the big screen recently in a new movie called “Bonhoeffer: Pastor. Spy. Assassin.”  It’s slated to begin streaming later this month.  Bonhoeffer joined officers within the German intelligence service who were secretly conspiring to overthrow Hitler and end the war.  He approved of plans to assassinate the Nazi dictator, though he wasn’t an active participant.

A new report from the Journal of the American Medical Association reveals the spread of transgenderism amongst the country’s children.  Looking at insurance claims from 2018 through 2022, JAMA concludes that thousands of adolescents received puberty blocking drugs and hormone shots in order to live as the opposite sex.  Some of those patients were as young as 13.  The report has no information on how many children have undergone sex-change operations.  So far 26 states have passed laws barring doctors from using drugs or surgery to help kids live as the opposite sex.
