Everyday Blessings #8: Missing Friends

My kids have made fast friends with a little boy around their age who lives down the street. They’ve been anxiously awaiting the day he would be done with school for the summer so they could play together all day! Well, wouldn’t you know, his family went away on vacation the day after school let out. And to make matters worse, my kids left to visit their cousins for a week the very day that their friend came home from vacation! How they all miss each other! They are eagerly awaiting the day they can be together again and accomplish all their Summer adventure plans.

See, they have such a close relationship that they really feel it if they can’t spend time together. That’s how it should be with our relationship with God. Do you miss Him if you haven’t spent time with him in a while? Does your heart long to be back in his Word? Remember last year when we couldn’t go to church? Did you miss it? Did you heart ache to be under the preaching of God’s Word again? If you feel you’ve drifted far from Him, if you miss the closeness you once had, then spend some time with Him today.
