Wayne Weekly “Hold Fast, Stand Firm…Mornings Coming”
Written by Teddy on July 8, 2016
I had a number of thoughts for a subject to present in this week’s Wayne Weekly, but in light of the recent tragedies in our country, those thoughts are overshadowed.
As we witness, instantly in some cases, tragedies, untruths from those in high places, the calculated disintegration of the traditional family, drug epidemics that are killing our youth amidst those who aggressively fight to legalize recreational marijuana, racial unrest perpetuated by special interest groups and even some government officials, and the abandonment of the truths of God’s Word by many of today’s mainline churches and independent Christian movements, our hearts grow heavy, our spirits are crushed. Like David we may say, “I am weary with my groaning…”
But…we must not “grow weary in well doing”. Though we are surrounded by wickedness and evil, God is “our deliver”! He is our “strong tower”, our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
So important it is to cling to our Savior. So important it is to gain strength by fellowshipping with other Christians. And, so important to be renewed by being immersed in the eternal Word of God and be taught the full council of it by pastors and teachers who don’t waver from truth and cave in to despondency.
To all, hold fast, stand firm.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”-Psalm 30:5
