(SRN NEWS) – During this month’s Supreme Court arguments over a Tennessee law barring the use of puberty-blockers on children, one justice injected race into the debate.  Ketanji Brown Jackson said she saw some troubling parallels between Tennessee’s efforts to curb transgenderism amongst youngsters and the arguments made in the 1960’s against interracial marriage.  Justice Jackson raised eyebrows during her confirmation hearings when she told Senators that she was not qualified to define what a woman is, saying “I’m not a biologist.”

Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi (GOOEY) will face no formal action from the English Soccer Association despite defying its rules for a second time by writing a religious message on his uniform during a Premier League game.  Guehi, who is a Christian, wrote “I love Jesus” on a rainbow armband that the league is forcing players to wear in honor of LGBT pride.  Meanwhile, Manchester United has abandoned plans for its players to wear rainbow uniforms in a Premier League match after one of its Muslim players said he would not do so.

Arsonists extensively damaged a Melbourne synagogue in what Australia’s prime minister has condemned as an anti-Semitic attack.  Police say a witness who had come to Adass Israel Synagogue to pray saw two masked men spreading an accelerant inside the building.  It took more than 60 firefighters to quench the blaze.  Attacks on Jews have increased in Australia since the Hamas attack on Israel in October of 2023.  The government has appointed special envoys to combat anti-Semitism as well as Islamophobia in the country.

Democrats in Michigan are pressing to pass new abortion laws before the party loses its majority with the new legislative session next year and President Trump returns to the White House.  Despite the fact that Mr. Trump has vowed to leave the question of abortion to the states, liberal lawmakers in many places are expressing panic.  California has called a special session of the legislature to try and insulate abortion and LGBT laws against the president.  In Michigan, Republicans will be taking control of the state House in January.
