(October 12) Dallas-based Patriot Mobile—which bills itself as America’s only Christian and conservative cellular service provider— this week has been delivering generators, blankets, diapers and other essentials to communities hard-hit by last week’s Hurricane Helene.
As politicians and Washington bureaucrats pointed fingers at each other over the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) failing to adequately deliver emergency services in the wake of back-to-back Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Patriot Mobile decided to roil up its sleeves and help those hardest-hit. Leigh Wambsganss, Chief Information Officer for Patriot, tells SRN News that the company’s first challenge was that so many of their employees wanted to pitch in and help. “We narrowed it down to two,” she says, “because we filled every square inch of our truck and trailer with emergency supplies since we wanted to deliver as much help as we possibly could.”
Patriot Mobile employees who drove from Dallas to four impacted communities in Georgia ended up sleeping in their truck because they did not want to take rooms away from evacuees. At one part of their journey, a military base let them park inside their gates so the staffers and their precious cargo would be protected as they slept.
“We’re a Christian company and we believe in being the hands and feet of Jesus,” Wambsganss adds. “Doing whatever we can to help wherever we can is just part of our core mission.”
