(SRN NEWS) – The most important holidays on the Jewish calendar fall in October this year. Rosh Hashana, the Jewish new year, starts at sundown on Wednesday, October 2nd, and continues through the evening of Friday, October 4th. It marks the start of the Jewish High Holidays, a 10-day season that ends with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. This year, Yom Kippur will be observed from sunset on Friday, October 11th, until nightfall on Saturday, October 12th. Rosh Hashana is a festive event. Yom Kippur is more somber and spiritual.

It has also been recognized by Forbes and the Princeton Review.
Conservative Christian churches in California and prominent figures such as activist Charlie Kirk are urging congregations to get involved in ballot gathering or ballot harvesting. That’s the practice of collecting ballots and dropping them off at county offices, which is legal in 35 states now including California. Proponents believe this will be an important tool for conservative Christians to have a voice in national and local elections, especially on issues such as abortion, gender and sex education in schools and immigration.
A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging a Tennessee law that bans boys from using girls bathrooms and locker rooms in public schools. The lawsuit was filed nearly two years ago by a transgender student, identified only as D.H. U.S. District Judge William Campbell pointed to the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals upholding two Tennessee transgender-related laws. One of them banned sex-change operations on children and the other barred the changing of gender on public documents. The appeals court ruled that both laws treat the sexes equally.
