Deb Gleason Thomas experienced a first significant death in her life at the age of 12. Since that young age, she has felt the sorrow and challenge of living through the deaths of family and friends, ages 17 to 92, to accident, advanced age, cancer, COVID, murders, and terminal illness, including three deaths in a three-month span. On August 10, 2024, Thomas will share “My Grief Journey” at Ellisburg United Methodist Church, 4618 NYS Route 289, Ellisburg, New York, as a program of Live More Ministries. The program is free to attend. Thomas will share the role that faith and grace have had throughout her journey. There will also be information on Grief Share, a nondenominational grief recovery support group based in Wake Forest, North Carolina, that Thomas was introduced to later in her journey by her son, a pastor at Grace Community Church in Adams Center, New York.
The Ellisburg UMC Church Women will offer a complimentary breakfast buffet from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.; the Live More Ministries program runs from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
