Pro-Life Senator Tommy Tuberville Stands Tall
Written by on September 8, 2023
The Biden administration’s ongoing effort to maximize abortion availability across the nation reached new depths earlier this year when the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) decided to offer military servicewomen paid travel expenses and paid vacation if they travel to undergo abortions.
In response to this vile (and arguably illegal) initiative, Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has placed a hold on all DOD nominees that require Senate confirmation. According to the Daily Citizen, “promotions for 300 military officers are currently being held up by the senator’s stand.”
Instead of reconsidering its extremist policy (which has never been specifically authorized by Congress), the Biden administration and its pro-abortion allies are following their usual playbook: Using bullying and intimidation to get people to back down. Lately, Democrats are arguing that Sen. Tuberville’s strong stand for life is weakening American national security.
New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms calls upon the Biden administration to immediately rescind its pro-abortion military travel policies. The Department of Defense is not required to provide abortion-related benefits to servicemen and women. It is also not required to promote abortion by paying for servicewomen stationed in pro-life states to travel to pro-abortion states like New York to end the lives of their unborn children. Perhaps, if this policy is reversed, some abortion-minded servicewomen will actually choose life.
