Everyday Blessings #10: Jesus is the Anchor

A life without Jesus is adrift on the sea of life. We can’t trust the morals or religions of this world to hold us in the right place. They are constantly changing! I looked up some facts about dragging anchors. “An anchor drags when the external forces are stronger than the holding power of the anchor.”, “A dragging anchor affects the vessel, the vessels around it, property, and the surrounding environment.”, “To find out of your anchor is dragging, keep your eyes on 2 fixed points of light on the shore.”, “It can be hard to notice when you begin to drift, a vigilant bridge watch is essential.”

How accurately all of these things describe our Christian life! Let no external force – whether trials or temptations – be stronger than your anchor in Christ! Know that your drifting away will affect you and the people around you! Keep your eyes FIXED on the Light of the World! His Light never changes! And be vigilant! Keep a close watch. Stay in God’s Word and in His house, so you will know when you start to drift.
