Wayne Weekly “When Green Turns to White”

Written by on March 29, 2021

Just when we thought spring had sprung, here we are in another winter’s day. Actually, we all know better than to believe that the birds would be singing, the flowers blooming, and gentle warm breezes would be the norm at the end of March. But, you know, wishful thinking…

Our lives are full of hopeful expectations, even if “the odds are against it”. The difference in wishful hoping and Bible hoping are very distinctive. Whereas we often wish for something to be, like hoping for an early spring, Bible hoping is often described as “confident expectation”. When the Word of God declares something is built on hope, it generally means, it is inevitable. The thing shrouded in hope is a for sure thing. It will take place.

The “blessed hope” is the joyful assurance that God will extend His benefits to us and that Jesus Christ will return.

During this Easter season when we focus on the death and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ, we can be confident that His life means life for us…and that eternally. We can be confident that we will be with Him forever someday, whether it be when the “silver cord is broken” and we depart our earthly life and enter glory, or our transition into heaven will be by way of  the “catching up of the church”, that is, the rapture, we know it’s a done deal.

Let’s live in that …hope!

“Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ;”                                 Titus 2:13
